《拳坛小妹》是一部根据真人故事讲述女人奋进、在事业上取得特殊成绩的影片。它借用

电影《拳坛小妹》是梅格瑞恩的转型之作，在电影中她扮演的杰姬凯伦是美国拳击历史上最成功的女拳击经纪人。在拳击这个充满了男性气息、残忍和暴力的领域，女人根本就没有惜身之所。这个道理JACKIE小时候就从他爸爸那儿领教过了。You don’t belong up here, all right? Go wash and make yourself invisible.（你不属于这儿，洗洗手，让自己赶紧消失）甚至连她的拳击手在最初的时候，都曾这样直言不讳地对她说，In the fight game, you’re a disease if you’re a woman and white.尽管这样，JACKIE还是在男性统治的拳击界创造了她自己的奇迹。

叔叔小时候曾这样“教育”过JACKIE：The world is an oyster and you’re a pearl. Pearls are prettyand they’re tough.pretty tough can do anything. Remember? 长大后的JACKIE意识到世界并不像他叔叔说的那样：The world is not an oyster, it is a smelly tank full of dirty water and sharks. It’s not that easy to swim.  

因为一个赌注，JACKIE可以成为拳击经纪人，面对从天而降的机遇，JACKIE也曾犹豫过，但内心的渴望还是让她选择充满荆棘的拳击之路。I’m more scared not to do this than to do it. JACKIE也具备着做一个经纪人的条件，正像她说服拳击手SHAW时所说：I’m really good with people.（擅长与人打交道） I can read them. （读懂） 把SHAW从监狱里保释出来，SHAW根本就不吊JACKIE，JACKIE却弃而不舍：I don’t make a habit of bailing strangers out of jail. （我没有保释陌生人出监狱的习惯）That would make me a nut（A crazy or eccentric person.） and I’m not. I’m just a person taking a chance.（冒一冒险, 碰碰运气, 利用一下机会）You might be interested in who I am and what I have to say. （你或许会对我是谁，我所说的感兴趣）If you’re not, I totally understand. You don’t owe me a thing.（你并不欠我什么） If, on the other hand, you are. My car’s parked around the corner. I’m harmless. （无害的，《奋斗》的路涛就说自己是个无害的人）The worst I could give you is a ride.（我能做的最糟糕的事儿就是免费载你一程） 

为了让SHAW有比赛打，JACKIE也下了一番功夫，联系各种能想到的人和关系：I can’t cash those compliments at a bank. I don’t need a date. What I really need is a fight for my boxer.最后她找到了爸爸曾经帮助过的人寻求帮助，半利诱半讲情理，终于说服了对方： A: I just come to these joints (脱衣舞)for relaxation.J:You’re a married man addicted to (沉迷于)strip joints and god knows what else. I’m sure I could find out.（你是个沉迷于脱衣舞的已婚男人，上帝知道你还迷什么，我确定我能找出来。）A：Are you threatening me?（威胁）J:No, I’m thanking you in advance.（提前）My dad is the only reason you’re where you are today. I know you’re gonna help me the same way my dad helped you out.（能有今天的你都是我老爸的关系，我知道你会像我老爸帮你一样帮我的。） 

事业有成后，JACKIE面临了许多挑战，她曾经的媒体伙伴也不满她的所作所为：The one thing that you always were was honorable(值得尊敬的，名副其实的，名声好的), in a real way. If you said something, you meant it. If you didn’t say it, well , you meant that too. That’s quite an attribute.(品质，特征，属性) Not a lot of people have that. And now neither do you. 她的拳击手SHAW也和她决裂了，看看俩人的对话：J:where do you think this world you’re living in came from? It came from me. Putting my life on the line, having faith in you, giving you faith in yourself.S: I gave you a damn chance. Everything you did for me, I did the same goddamn thing for you. That’s how you got the world you’re living in .  当然故事的最后，俩人冰释前嫌，JACKIE在拳击领域的成就获得了众人的认可。
